DENNIS R. SCHUTT is an AV rated attorney and one of the founding partners at Schutt, Schmidt & Noey. He attended Louisiana State University and A & M College. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1970. He served in the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C., from 1970 through 1978. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Florida Army National Guard having served in the Judge Advocate General Corps.
Mr. Schutt attended George Mason University School of Law, receiving a J.D. in 1977, and was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1977.
He attended University of Florida College of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1981 and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1981. While in law school, Mr. Schutt was a member of the University of Florida Moot Court Team. Mr. Schutt was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2011.
His past legal experience includes: Mathews, Osborne, McNatt, Gobelman & Cobb, P.A., Jacksonville, 1981-1986; Coker, Myers, Schickel, Cooper & Sorenson, P.A., Jacksonville, 1986-1994.
Mr. Schutt is a current member of the Jacksonville and American Bar Associations, Florida Bar, Virginia State Bar, United States District Court (Middle and Northern Districts of Florida), the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute, and Jacksonville Association of Defense Counsel. He is a past-President of the Jacksonville Association of Defense Counsel (1993 and 1994), and continues to play an active role in that association.
Mr. Schutt is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and received the designation of “Advocate” in 2013.
Mr. Schutt’s practice focuses on civil trial litigation and he is a Certified Circuit Civil Mediator.
