Shannon Posada has been an attorney in the Jacksonville, Florida area since 2002 and has over 17 years of litigation experience in government and private practice, including state and federal courts.

Shannon was born and raised in Clay County, Florida. After graduating from the University of Florida in 1995, she worked as a Pension Benefits Analyst for a local company for several years before deciding to go to law school. In law school, in addition to participating in mock trial/moot court competitions and winning several awards, Shannon was a member of the University of Memphis Law Review and published an article: TORTS – WHITE v. REVCO DISCOUNT DRUG CENTERS: “Should private employers be held liable for the negligence of off-duty police officers?”

Upon graduating from the law school, Shannon began her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Duval County, Florida. As a prosecutor, Shannon was in charge of handling serious felony cases including sex offenses, drug crimes and murder charges. During her career, she was assigned to a specialty division to handle appellate and post-conviction cases. She also served as a judge in the Teen Court program and volunteered as a mediator for the Citizens Dispute Resolution Program.

After serving as an Assistant State Attorney, Shannon went into private practice for a small firm with a diverse litigation practice of criminal and civil cases including complex litigation, family law, auto accidents, contracts, and personal injury. During this time, she participated in over 100 trials and thousands of court hearings, wrote appellate briefs and other post-conviction motions, and excelled at negotiating favorable outcomes for her clients. She was also designated as the firm’s community/public relations liaison and participated in numerous speaking engagements and social media videos, conducted seminars and wrote articles on relevant legal issues.

Shannon has worked primarily in civil law since 2015 with a focus in the following areas: personal injury/wrongful death, insurance defense, trucking accidents, complex commercial litigation, contract litigation, appellate law and construction law. She proudly joined this firm in 2018 as an Associate Attorney and continues to pursue the drive to be a dedicated legal advocate. Her extensive experience in pre-trial litigation and trial work has given her the necessary experience to analyze complex legal issues, to research and write effective legal documents, and to argue cases with confidence and credibility in a variety of courts.

Shannon is a member of the Florida Bar, the United States District Court – Middle District of Florida and the Jacksonville Association of Defense Counsel. She was a Chair and member of The Florida Bar Grievance Committee, from 2014-2017.
